We just got back from a trip to Doheny State Beach, near Dana Point Harbor. We were going to stay two nights, but Andrew has two games on Sunday, and we thought it better to come home late Saturday night rather than Sunday morning.
We spent a lot of time in the sun, walking around the harbor and playing in the sand. Sherry and the boy had a blast trying to push each other into the surf. But ultimately, Andrew got his shoes wet when we got to the point where San Juan Creek enters the ocean, and he was too stubborn to take his shoes off.
We stayed in campsite 101, which was great for proximity to the restrooms, but a little bit of a walk to the shore. The spaces are pretty small, with little privacy, but we gave the campground a rating of four tents (full hook-up would take it to five).
